Helping college students meet their financial needs
The rising cost of obtaining a college education has made it increasingly difficult for many students and families to realize their dreams of earning a college degree. As an attorney, Brian Zeiger understands the value of education as well as the financial strain that being a student can often entail. In an effort to help students meet their financial needs, The Zeiger Firm is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to each winner of the biannual Brian Zeiger college scholarship essay contest. Details regarding the contest and application procedures are detailed below.
The essay contest
In order to participate in the contest, prospective applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited United States college or university or planning to attend one in the academic year of 2016-2017. Applicants should submit a 500-word essay answering the following question to the email address provided below:
Crime is all around us. Unfortunately, crime rates seem to increase from year to year, and we’re living in a society where we need to constantly look out for ourselves and our loved ones.
There are many products and services on the market to help reduce crime, from house alarms to video cameras to high tech locks. There are also many neighborhood watch groups, after school programs, and community-based services whose intention is to keep people safe.
What are some other, or innovative, ways to prevent crime? How do they work and how feasible are they to implement? If you could create something new, what would it be?
Responses will be judged on the following criteria:
- The quality of the writing
- The thoughtfulness of the response
- The applicant’s demonstrated potential for success in a field of study related to law
In order to apply, applicants should submit their essay to firstname.lastname@example.org by 04/10/17. In addition, applicants must include the following information in the body of the email to which their essay is attached:
- Their full name, address, and phone number
- The name of the institution you are planning to attend or the one you are attending
- Contact information for their parent(s) or legal guardian, if an applicant is under the age of 18
A final decision will be made on or around April 17th, 2017, and the winner will be notified via email.
